Shooting Stars
Sometimes we are lucky enough to witness or bask in the light of a shining star, and realize it. Yesterday I found out that wonderful violinist, Eugene Fodor passed away. My family and I were invited to a local picnic where Eugene goofed around and played bits of Tchaikovsky in the garage. Then later that week, I heard him play a recital with his wife Sally Fodor in the tiny Holualoa Theater in Holualoa, HI. Though he seemed stand-offish on both occasions—when I saw him play, it was clear how much he loved the music he was playing. And that was the gift he gave. R.I.P. Mr. Fodor.
