Instant Gratification

I've been working on several projects which won't be released for quite some time. The funny thing about illustration is that sometimes you never see your work in the context for which it was commissioned. But I get instant gratification on the side—Leche de Tigre has kept me busy with show posters. Here's the latest for Cinco de Mayo. A butterfly, inspired by fighting kites. Speaking of flying, I'm about to take off for a few days to San Francisco. Looking forward to exploring new galleries and visiting old haunts. Until April...

Jing,
I love your work. The butterfly, tiger, kite is inspired!
I have a friend in SF who I recently directed to LDT, and she said "I love the graphics!". If you need someone to have a coffee with let me know and I'll send you her email address.
Be well,
Claudia

Mucho mahalos, Claudia! Did you know that butterflies are actually biologically designed to have intimidating "faces" to scare off their predators? That's where this idea came from. Trip to SF was way too short, perhaps another time :).
