Hawaii International Film Festival
When I work with local clients, there's such a rich visual language to work with. The local culture is is a melting pot of influences from the different Pacific Islands, Japan and the Portugese (who came to the islands to work on sugar plantations). For the 2011 Hawaii International Film Festival promotional materials, Art Director, Warren Daubert developed the idea of a neko cat with Super 8 camera and reel. The neko cat is lucky symbol. In the islands, small shops often have a golden one on display. For this project, I developed the front and side views as well.
