Many artists/illustrators have recurring icons in their work. For me, the image that keeps appearing is the butterfly—the ideas of metamorphosis and flight are themes I love exploring. So, I was excited to get a commission from Natural Vitality out of Austin, TX for a butterfly illustration. For this one, I incorporated a lotus flower. The lotus flower is a traditional symbol of enlightenment, an uplifting idea for a butterfly, don't you think?
