I am honored to have received a commission for the official image of the 2015 Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, a celebration of all things Kona Coffee, November 6th-15th.
Every morning, when I surf—I look at the silhouette of Hualalai, a shield volcano. I think many of us who spend a lot of time in the coean (swimmers, divers, fishermen, paddlers, surfers) are familiar with this view of Hualalai.
I featured Hualalai because much of Kona coffee is grown on Hualalai's western slope. Kona coffee is very special for many reasons, but it's "terroir" is incredibly unique.
This image will be used on posters, buttons and other promotional materials.
